FINAL: Rummel, Colberg win respective Frisco City Council races

With all county precincts reporting, Laura Rummel, running for reelection to the Place 5 seat, and Brittney Colberg, running for Place 6, won their respective races for Frisco City Council.

What's happening?

Rummel won the Place 5 race with 14,762 votes, or 66%. Vijay Karthik received 5,412 votes, or 24%, while Sreekanth Reddy garnered 2,253 votes, or 10%.

In the Place 6 race, Colberg received 12,754 votes, or 57%, while Matt Chalmers garnered 4,171 votes, or 19%. Sai Krishnarajanagar has received 3,544 votes, or 16%, and Jerry Spencer has received 1,798 votes, or 8%.

Early voting results show incumbent Laura Rummel is leading for the Frisco City Council Place 5 seat, and Brittany Colberg is ahead for the Place 6 seat.

What you need to know

Denton and Collin counties have released early voting totals showing Rummel is in the lead for the Frisco City Council Place 5 race with 11,244 votes, or 67%. Vijay Karthik has received 4,058 votes, or 24%, while Sreekanth Reddy has received 1,441 votes, or 9%.

In the Place 6 race, Colberg is in the lead with 9,615 votes, or 58%, with Matt Chalmers trailing with 3,213 votes, 20%. Sai Krishnarajanagar has received 2,282 votes, or 14%, and Jerry Spencer has received 1,342 votes, or 8%.

Zooming out

In early voting, there were 18,321 ballots cast in Collin County, representing just over 4% of registered voters in the county. In Denton County, 37,566 registered voters turned out, totaling 6.49% of registered county voters.
