Frisco ISD officials consider weighted GPA expansion to include dual-credit courses

Frisco ISD officials are considering expanding the 6.0 weighted GPA to include dual-credit courses for the class of 2030. The change in grade point average would affect current sixth graders. The proposed change will be brought back to the board of trustees in April for consideration.

Frisco ISD reopens special needs resource library for parents, teachers

The Parent Sanctuary and Lending Library was created in 2015 and offers resources for FISD parents and educators. The library underwent renovations, receiving new paint and furniture as well as new books, sensory items and teaching tools.


Frisco ISD officials set max price for visual and performing arts center

The guaranteed maximum price for the facility was approved by board members during a March 4 meeting, allowing no more than $54.94 million to be spent on the project. The fine arts facility will feature an approximately 1,200-seat auditorium and an art gallery space.

Frisco ISD officials seek input from staff, parents, students via survey

Frisco ISD is looking to identify gaps as well as inform district priorities and planning through a survey of all staff members, parents and fourth through 12th grade students. The survey will be open between March 25 and April 7.


Frisco ISD officials expect to use rainy day funds for FY 2024-25 budget

FISD officials are in the midst of a budget workshop for FY 2024-25. While expecting a $19.6 million shortfall, officials may use funds set aside for unexpected expenses to help balance the budget. The next budget workshop is scheduled for April 2.
