Frisco ISD students will be able to move into the modern and new Emerson High School when they return from summer vacation Aug. 12.

The district's 11th high school will open to freshmen and sophomores who live east of Custer Road. The school will add a new class each year until it serves grades 9-12.

Before their board meeting on Aug. 9, Frisco ISD trustees took a tour around the new campus before it officially opens.

During the walk-through, it was discussed that as the district grows larger, staff have prioritized modernizing campuses and adapting learning spaces so they are collaborative and can serve more than one purpose.

Construction on the high school began in August 2019.
