A Handel’s Ice Cream franchise is expected to open in Frisco.

Construction on the store is set to start in April and is slated for completion in June, according to a filing with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The Ohio-based ice cream store’s menu features 48 flavors of ice cream rotating every month. Vegan and sorbet options, sherbets and ices are also available. Other items include pints and quarts, sundaes, shakes and pops. Hurricanes—which are made with one part vanilla ice cream and one part add-in ingredient such as chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate covered strawberries and more—will also be available.

Handel's Homemade Ice Cream was founded by Alice Handel in 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio. As of January 2024, the company operates 125 corporate and franchise stores in 12 states.
