“Get the true Thai and Laotian experience while supporting small business owners working for the American dream,” Adams said.
The backstory
The restaurant, which is owned by brothers Bobby and Jet Attaphanh, offers a combination of Thai and Laotian food, and offers a more authentic flavor than similar restaurants, Adams said.
Bobby Attaphanh works in the front of the restaurant, while Jet Attaphanh works in the kitchen.
“A lot of time, when you go to other restaurants, it’s usually not the owner’s cooking,” Adams said. “It’s a very family oriented environment.”
The restaurant opened Nov. 1, 2022, and was previously a Thai restaurant called Yummy Thai.
Jet Attaphanh said he worked in restaurants and the hospitality industry for several years before opening Manee Thai.
What’s special about it
Adams said the restaurant doesn’t use MSG in the cooking process to provide healthier dining options. Additionally, Manee Thai has several vegetarian and vegan options.
Jet Attaphanh said menu items are made in-house, adding that he started cooking at a young age and many of the dishes on the menu use his recipes.
What’s on the menu?
One of the most popular dishes on the menu is drunken noodles, Bobby Attaphanh said. The dish features Stir-fried flat rice noodles, carrot, tomato, bean sprout, white onion, Thai basil leaves, broccoli, jalapeno and bell pepper.
Another popular dish is the spicy basil leaves, which features bell pepper, garlic, chili, white onion, jalapeno and mushroom and is served with steamed rice.
For first time visitors, Jet Attaphanh said he would recommend one of the Thai fried rice dishes, such as pineapple fried rice, which features Stir-fried rice with pineapple, egg, yellow onion, green onion, garlic, cashews and a choice of protein such as chicken or shrimp.
