A public hearing will occur at the Frisco Planning & Zoning Commission’s April 28 meeting for a specific use permit for a church near Frisco Ranch Estates.

The Church in McKinney is requesting the permit to build an L-shaped church over nearly 2 acres on the corner of North County Road and Cottonwood Street. Action on the permit was tabled by the commission at an April 14 meeting.

According to city documents, the specific use permit for the church will be recommended for approval.

Other agenda items up for the commission’s consideration include open space and site plans for a retail or restaurant building over 1.5 acres on the south side of Main Street and the east side of Coit Road.


Per city documents, the commission is expected to approve the following consent agenda items:
  • A final plat for over 300 lots for patio homes, townhome and homeowners associations near Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway;
  • A final plat for 345 urban living units near Gordon Heights Lane and FM 423;
  • Open space and preliminary site plans and a conveyance plat for a hotel, restaurant and retail and office buildings over 11 acres near Dallas Parkway and All Stars Avenue; and
  • Open space and site plans for an outdoor commercial amusement venue for Music Street Frisco.
