A new option for free drive-thru COVID-19 testing will be available over the next few Sundays in Frisco.

Neighborhood Medical Center is offering free testing for those with or without insurance. The insured will be required to present an insurance card. Those without insurance will need to provide a state identification to allow Neighborhood Medical Center to submit for federal reimbursement for the test.

Both rapid antigen testing and polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, testing will be offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 at M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi, School of Islamic Sufism, 8455 Stonebrook Parkway, Frisco.

No appointment or referral is necessary to get tested. Rapid test results will be given to the patient on-site within 30 minutes of collection, while lab test results will be available in two to three days through an online patient portal.

A separate free drive-thru COVID-19 saliva testing site currently operating in the parking lot of Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco will also be available daily through Oct. 3. The Texas Division of Emergency Management recently extended the dates of that free testing into October.

The free saliva tests are available to anyone, regardless of county or city of residence, though pre-registration is required at Texas.curativeinc.com.

Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Participants receive results within two to four days, according to a city news release. Dr Pepper Ballpark is located at 7300 RoughRiders Trail, Frisco.
