Local Facebook group Frisco Gives Back partnered with the hospital to host the morning shift-change cheer for the hospital's nurses at 6:30 a.m. May 6, group administrator Tara Yell said. Another cheer for evening shift nurses will begin at 5:45 p.m. the same day.
Frisco Police also joined the morning shift-change cheer at the hospital with lights shining from their patrol cars, she said.
Yell started Frisco Gives Back on March 29 to organize cheers and offer gift cards to those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic in Frisco. The group has done shift change cheers at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center—Centennial, Texas Health Frisco and Medical City Frisco since the group’s inception.
“I feel like the crowd gets a little bit bigger every time,” she said.
The group is currently gathering items for gift baskets to give Frisco Police in honor of National Police Week, which begins May 10, Yell said. Another shift-change cheer is in the works as well, she said.
