The city of Frisco and partnering groups will hold a Memorial Day observance ceremony May 31 at the Frisco Veterans Memorial at Frisco Commons, according to the city website.

Frisco with the Frisco Garden Club and Frisco VFW Post 8273 will conduct a traditional flag and wreath-laying ceremony as patriotic music plays from 9-10 a.m. at 8000 McKinney Road. Local scouts will also participate in the ceremony.

The Frisco Garden Club and local VFW post have been coordinating Memorial Day services in Frisco since 1994, according to the city.

Because of Memorial Day observance, recycling and trash curbside collection will be delayed by one day in Frisco.

Residents whose service day is typically Monday will see collection on the following day, June 1. Those with Tuesday as their typical service day will see collection June 2, and so on.

Services will resume on the normal schedule on June 7.
