K.D. Warach K.D. Warach[/caption] K.D. Warach has filed for the Frisco City Council Place 6 seat. Council Member Scott Johnson currently holds the seat, but he is term-limited this year and cannot seek re-election. Warach filed and ran for the unexpired Place 1 seat in the Feb. 18 special election, in which he received 11.3 percent of the vote. Warach said he is more organized and ready for the May 6 election. "I felt we left it unfinished," he said. "I'm in it to win it, so I'll give it another try." Warach has lived in Frisco for more than three years with his family. He said he decided to run for council in order to be more active in the community. “I just love the town,” he said. “It’s a good place to raise my family, and I just want to be more involved in it.” Warach is a licensed engineer with a background in construction management for heavy civil infrastructure projects. He said this experience would help prepare him for serving on council. “I think my engineering background gives me the analytical skills that I’ll be able to use when I’m on City Council,” he said. “Solve problems—that’s basically what I do at my current occupation, and it prepares me well for this position.” With the rate at which Frisco is growing, Warach said he wants to make sure the city keeps up with the services residents need. “With growth comes its own problems like infrastructure, basic services and providing a good quality of life for residents,” he said. “We want to make sure we continue that. We don’t want to fall behind.” Warach said he also wants to highlight Frisco’s best qualities, such as its housing and businesses, to attract people to visit or move to the city. His other priorities include promoting equal opportunity, diversity, income equality and fair share of taxes. For more information about Warach, visit www.warach4frisco.com. Other candidates who have filed for Place 6 include Jason Abati, Brian Livingston, Bobby Roberti and Rui Zhang.
