Here are seven business updates for north Frisco including businesses that are coming soon, now open or recently closed.

1. Anchor Bar

The food menu offers a variety of wing options, with sauces ranging in heat from honey garlic, the mildest, to ghost ship, the hottest. Pizza, burgers, pasta, salads and more are available on the menu. The drink menu features light, classic and Mexican lagers. IPAs, wheat, stouts, dark beer and more.2. Spice Rack

The store sells meat, fresh produce and a variety of grocery items including coffee, tea, biscuits, spices and more. Spice Rack will also open a fine dining restaurant soon within the same shopping center, a representative said.

3. Portillo’s

The Chicago chain broke ground on its first Frisco location Dec. 11, according to a company news release. A variety of Portillo’s signature menu items will be available at the new Frisco location, including: Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers and chocolate cake.

4. Slice House by Tony Gemignani

The fast-casual pizza franchise was founded by world renowned pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani, according to Dec. 4 news release. Slice House by Tony Gemignani features pizzas sold by the slice or whole. Beyond pizzas, Slice House offers pasta dishes, including a gemelli pasta with vodka tomato cream sauce, salads and various Italian desserts, such as spumoni, cannoli and gelato.What’s next

5. H-E-B fulfillment center


The 51,599 square-foot building, which will be located at FM 423 and US 380 in Frisco, has an estimated construction cost of $14,439,910, according to the TDLR filing. The construction project is slated to begin in July 2026 and be completed by June 2027.6. McDonalds

It will be 3,845 square-foot restaurant, which will be located at the northwest corner of PGA Parkway and Preston Road. It has an estimated construction cost of $1.5 million and is slated to begin construction in February and scheduled for completion in June.Closures

7. Spin! Pizza

The Frisco location is no longer listed on Spin! Pizza's website and its Facebook page has been taken down as of Dec. 10. Spin! Pizza is listed as permanently closed on Google, and calls to the business from Community Impact went unanswered. The pizzeria opened its Frisco location in 2023 and offered pizza, salads, soups, sandwiches, gelato and more, according to its website. Spin! Pizza operates another Dallas-Fort Worth location in Richardson.
