Belk, a department store founded in 1888 and headquartered in North Carolina, is opening one of two new stores introducing a fresh concept called Belk Market in Frisco, Holly Richter, Belk vice president of corporate communications and associate experience said.

"Belk Market offers customers a curated mix of top national brands and beloved private labels in a smaller, easy-to-shop footprint," Richter said. "In addition to customer favorites, the stores will feature unique products and frequent deliveries of new brands and styles tailored for each community."

Customers can expect new items across men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, as well as shoes, handbags, accessories, home décor and fine jewelry.

What's happening?

Construction is underway for Belk Market that will be housed in a former Big Lots store. According to a listing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction began in October and is slated for completion in November. The estimated construction cost is $257,923 and will include non-load bearing walls, new flooring, new fitting rooms and painting.
