The Mix has begun construction on a future Whole Foods Market location that will serve as the anchor tenant of The Mix’s retail center, according to a July 24 news release. The store will be located at Dallas Parkway and Lebanon Road and it will be the first Frisco location for the retailer.
“We are excited to welcome Frisco’s first Whole Foods Market to The Mix,” said Tim Campbell, head of development for The Mix, in the release. “We believe the store will offer Frisco residents high-quality food and an elevated grocery shopping experience. Whole Foods Market has remained committed to this site and Frisco for more than 10 years and will be a great asset to The Mix and our community.”
The details
The new Whole Foods Market and retail center are part of the first phase of development at The Mix, which broke ground in January 2025. Phase one of The Mix includes 28 acres, about 100,000 total square feet of retail space, 115,000 square feet of Class A office space, 635 urban residential units, and part of the 8-acre central park.
“Frisco residents will finally get the Whole Foods Market they have long wanted, thanks to the efforts of The Mix,” City Council member John Keating said in the release. “The community has been asking for this unique shopping experience for years, and we are excited to see it come to fruition. Our partnership with The Mix underscores our commitment to enhancing quality of life for residents, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on our city."
The background
The Mix is a $3 billion mixed-used development that sits on 112-acres off the Dallas North Tollway. The development will feature more than 2 million square feet of Class A office space, 375,000 square feet of upscale retail, two hotels, and over 3 million square feet of residential.
Construction on the development comes after a decade-long saga at the Lebanon Road and Dallas Parkway site.
Development plans for The Mix were first approved by Frisco City Council members in September 2023. A $113.43 million incentive agreement for the first phase of construction was later approved in fall 2024.
Before The Mix, the corner of Lebanon Road and Dallas Parkway was expected to become Wade Park, a mixed-use development that broke ground in 2014 and was abandoned in 2017 after a series of financial issues.
