BasePoint Academy is set to open late March in Frisco, said Marketing Director Gina Thorne.

BasePoint Academy is an outpatient program that provides behavioral health and substance use treatment for adolescents ages 11-18 years old.

BasePoint provides a partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient services.

“Teens can build trust with our team while finding their purpose, learning healthy boundaries and coping skills, and practicing these skills with their peers, while also addressing academics with our education counselor,” Thorne said in an email.

BasePoint Academy offers a complimentary mental health and substance use assessment to families that may be seeing the following signs and symptoms from their teen:
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • isolation
  • anger outburst
  • difficulty concentrating
  • loss of appetite
  • academic decline
  • self harming behavior
  • truancy
  • alcohol or drug use

The staff at BasePoint Academy is made up of licensed professional counselors, licensed professional counselor interns, nurse practitioners. It is led by Medical Director, Dr. Kimberly Dobbins, who is double board certified in Adult and Child/Adolescent psychiatry.

There are currently Basepoint Academy locations in Arlington, Forney and McKinney.
