The Frisco Chamber of Commerce has a new leader.

The chamber board appointed Christal Howard as the organization's president and CEO, according to an Oct. 17 chamber announcement.

“I'm truly honored to get to serve as the President/CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors for their careful consideration and diligence during the selection process,” Howard said. “There truly is no better community than Frisco to live, raise a family, and to start and operate a business. I feel immensely grateful to have done all three, and look forward to taking on this next chapter full of gratitude and excitement.”

The background

Howard started at the chamber in January as its chief operating officer. She started as interim president and CEO after former President Tony Felker retired.

Felker retired in August after a 19-year career with the chamber.

“This is an incredible organization with a rich history and important mission. Working alongside the Board, our dedicated staff, community partners, and members, I look forward to furthering our existing strategic initiatives while also visioning ways to take our advocacy for the Frisco business community to new heights,” Howard said.

Quote of note
