Frisco is almost ready to welcome a brand-new brewery.

Three Empires Brewery Co. celebrated a soft opening of its Rail District space Sept. 30, nearly seven months after Frisco City Council members approved its owners’ request to operate in the city.

“[The opening] was almost overwhelming,” co-owner David Wible said. “We're just grateful, grateful that we had the turnout that we did on [Sept. 30] and then [that] a lot of people turned around and came right back out on [Oct. 1], too.”

It will serve as one of a small handful of local breweries in the Frisco area as breweries were prohibited from operating within city limits until a 2020 zoning change.

While not all of the drinks are yet available, Frisco residents can expect to see updated hours for Three Empires Brewing Co. posted online before the brewery opens for a limited time the weekend of Oct. 7, Wible said.

The official grand opening date and hours will also be announced later.
