Here are four updates that have come from the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission’s Oct. 27 meeting.
1. Senior living community proposed in North Fields
Commission members approved an open space plan for 255 independent living units and 58 assisted living units on nearly 10 acres of land on the northeast corner of Ready Trail and Tall Meadow Way.
Staff's notes indicate the project meets the development's open-space requirements at the individual lot level, while landscaping and façade plans are still under review.
2. Parking garage, public park planned for downtown
Commission members approved a replat for approximately 2.6 acres at the northwest corner of Fifth Street and Elm Street to accommodate a parking garage and public park in downtown Frisco.
The replat combines the property into one lot and abandons a portion of the Fourth Street right-of-way needed for the development.
3. Restaurants, retail planned near Coit Road and Main Street
Commission members approved a conveyance plat outlining a 27.8-acre development at the northeast corner of Coit Road and Main Street, planned to include 12 professional and medical offices, four retail/restaurant spaces and five restaurants with drive-thru service.
The project was originally submitted on Sept. 14, and commission members approved a 30-day extension Oct. 12.
4. Public hearing called for zoning appeals
Commission members approved a consent agenda item to call a public hearing to consider amendments to Frisco’s zoning ordinance governing the appeal process.
City staff and the city attorney’s office are reviewing the rules, including who can appeal decisions, but they have not yet identified specific changes.
