Plans for the next phase of Highland Village’s 2022 bond streets improvement project are set after City Council approved a contract bid March 26.

The details

Council awarded a $923,165 construction contract to Pavecon Public Works for construction of the project’s phase, according to the agenda item. The following streets will receive pavement improvements during this phase:
  • Bexar Drive
  • Cuero Place
  • Edgewood Drive
  • Inca Place
  • Malibu Drive
  • Medina Drive, 150 feet north of Sandero Drive to Malibu Drive
  • Sandero Drive
  • Savanna Drive
  • Victoria Drive
Work is necessary to provide additional longevity and ride quality to these pavement structures, according to the agenda item. Construction is anticipated to start in May, Public Works Director Scott Kriston said.

The backstory

The 2022 bond streets improvement project’s overall scope includes reconstruction of 25 streets over three phases, according to project details. The first phase concluded earlier this year. Reconstruction of all 25 streets is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Funds are available through the 2022 street bond program.
