After the Highland Village City Council approved more than $1.92 million to replace several water lines in May, the contractor, Dickerson Construction Company, began work on Merriman Drive, according to a July 25 news release.

The details

The city is installing about 6,800 feet of new water line and 600 feet of new storm sewers, which is infrastructure used to help streets drain. Additionally, the cost of the replacements is over $1.92 million, which was approved at the May 13 council meeting. Work is expected to be done within eight months, according to the news release.

Per city documents, the project will affect the following streets:
  • Oak Street
  • Cedar Drive
  • Edgewood Drive
  • Merriman Drive
  • Lakeland Drive
  • Gayle Lane

Director of Public Works Scott Kriston said this replacement project will take place before the third phase of asphalt overlays outlined in the 2022 bond program, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
