At its meeting Feb. 17, the Town Council voted unanimously to deny the permit after residents shared concerns about noise and safety.
The details
The proposed helistop, a landing pad for a helicopter, would have been used to pick up and drop off a resident in town. The helistop would have been 36-feet by 36-feet and sit on a 7.74-acre plot of land. The town’s planning and zoning commission recommended denial of the project at its Feb. 10 meeting.
What they're saying
Several residents turned out to the Town Council meeting to voice their concerns about the project. They worried the helicopter landing on the helistop would be unsafe, create too much noise and send debris flying around the area.
All of the council members said the helistop wasn’t appropriate for this area of Flower Mound.
