A new hotel could be coming to Northlake.

The town’s Planning and Zoning commission approved a site plan for a new Homewood Suites by Hilton in Northlake.

The details

The plans are for a four-story hotel with a lobby, meeting area, fitness center, outdoor lounge and barbecue area, and is expected to cost $10 million.

The hotel will sit on a 2-acre lot on the east side of Raceway Drive and south of State Highway 114. The project will include 86 on-site spaces and 31 off-site spaces, exceeding the minimum parking requirement set by the town.

Diving deeper

Northlake currently has six hotels with more on the way, Town Manager Drew Corn said in an email. Six more are slated for the town in the coming years, including a StayBridge Suites, which will be considered by the Planning and Zoning commission in the next few months, he said.

Corn said the proposed Homewood Suites will support typical business travel, but will also be a space for families staying in Northlake for youth sports tournaments at a Dallas Stars-themed indoor sports facility that is coming soon to the town. The facility is called the StarCenter Multisport Northlake, which will be paid for, in part, through taxes generated from local hotels like the proposed Homewood Suites.

What's next?

Construction on the hotel is expected to begin in September and wrap up in June 2027, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
