Double Oak has a new town administrator.

Chris Laugenour, who brings with him experience in finance and administration, joined the town on Sept. 3, according to a news release.

Laugenour most recently served as managing director for the city of Grapevine's Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“His leadership was instrumental in significant projects, including the successful Convention Center expansion study and the renovation of the Community Center,” the release states.


The background

Prior to that, he served as the director of general services for active lifestyle community Laguna Woods Village in Laguna Woods, California, where he restructured the transportation program.

He also has extensive experience in managing large budgets and overseeing large fleets, the release states, noting that during his tenure with the city of Santa Ana, California, he managed a $120 million police department budget and oversaw a fleet of over 600 vehicles.

Laugenour holds a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Science in public affairs from the University of Southern California.
