Highland Village City Council passed a resolution supporting a Denton County Bond Proposition that would help pay for construction on Highland Village Road and Highland Shores Blvd., during its Oct. 25 meeting.

The bond program called TRIP-22 will be on the Nov. 8 ballot. The bond proposal amount is $570.89 million and includes funds to pay for 50% of two road projects in Highland Village—reconstruction of Highland Village Road from Brazos Boulevard to the Kansas City Southern Railroad and reconstruction of Highland Shores Boulevard from Briarhill Boulevard to Twin Coves Drive.

Those projects will cost $1.8 million and $4.6 million, respectively.

Highland Village mayor Daniel Jaworski made note that the bond program would not raise tax rates.

The city has already begun engineering work for these projects which were identified as high priority, according to the agenda item.
