Car enthusiasts seeking to learn more about eco-friendly vehicles can do so at an upcoming fair.

The details

The Flower Mound New Century Lions Club will hold an eco-friendly vehicle fair from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Lakeside International Office Center, 777 International Parkway in Flower Mound.

“This event is the first of its kind in North Texas, or for that matter in all of Texas,” said Sandeep Sharma, former Flower Mound Town Council member and a member of the Lions Club, in a news release. “We expect this to be an annual event, which will keep growing every year.”

Sharma also said funds from the event will be donated to various charities the Lions Club works with.

Zooming in

Representatives from most of the major makes and models have committed to bringing vehicles and potentially letting attendees do test drives, too, he said.

“The primary objective is for the North Texas residents to learn about the exciting future of transportation from electric and human-powered bikes, scooters, golf carts, electric motorcycles and low-emission/high-mileage cars, all in one location, without driving around the multiplex,” Sharma said in the release.

He added he hopes businesses will benefit from visitors who come to town.
