Flower Mound residents ready for a night out on the town can register now for the annual community event National Night Out.

People may register for block parties for National Night Out 2023, set for 6-9:30 p.m. Oct. 3, according to a town of Flower Mound news release.
The background
The release stated National Night Out, a nationwide initiative, promotes crime prevention, police-community partnerships and neighborhood unity. In some regions, the event is held on the first Tuesday in August, but locales in Texas schedule National Night Out later because of cooler temperatures in October.

Residents wanting a chance to win the Neighborhood of the Year award must register their block party by 5 p.m. Sept. 27. Registered block parties could also receive visits from members of Town Council, the Flower Mound Police Department, the Flower Mound Fire Department and more.
