Argyle ISD has finalized the purchase of 50 acres in Argyle to support future growth and long-range facility planning in the district, per a district news release.

Located on the north side of Harpole Road within the White Rock Farm Addition, the land will be used for the future Argyle Middle School serving the district’s east zone.

“As Argyle continues to grow, it is essential that we plan ahead in a way that supports our students, families, and community,” Argyle ISD Superintendent Courtney Carpenter said in the release. “Securing land allows us to ensure we are prepared to meet the needs of future students in our district, while also providing long-term flexibility for future district leaders and boards who will steward these decisions for many years to come.”

The district purchased the property using May 2025 bond funds approved by voters through Proposition A, per the news release.

This comes after the district purchased 128 acres in Northlake and broke ground on Michael Ball Elementary School in November, according to previous reporting.

The district will open Scott Gibson Middle School in 2026 and Michael Ball Elementary in 2027. Both are located on 50 acres on the north side of FM 407. In the 2027-28 school year, the current Argyle Middle School will become Argyle Legacy High School, the district’s second high school campus.

Looking ahead

Argyle Middle School is projected to open in the 2029-30 school year at its new location on Harpole Road.
