1. AISD stadium
The AISD stadium project was included in the 2022 bond package as part of the district’s 10-year strategic growth plan. The stadium will be located behind the Argyle High School field house, and the existing artificial turf field and track will be used for the new stadium, according to the district’s website.
Project updates:
- The fencing is complete on the visitor side of the grandstands, and brick columns are in place.
- The canopy where tickets will be scanned has been installed.
- The glass on the front side of the press box on the visitors side has been installed.
- The video board structure is up, and all electrical boxes are set. LED panels are expected to start being installed soon.
2. Indoor activity center
The indoor activity center, also funded through the 2022 bond package, will be utilized by multiple teams and student groups that will no longer have to travel to the indoor facility at the US 377 campus.
Project updates:
- The masonry block is up all the way around the building.
- Crews are currently working on the veneer stone and brick. The south side has been completed, and they are now working on the east side.
3. Middle school construction
The addition of the new middle school will help facilitate the district’s 10-year strategic plan, which includes splitting into two middle schools and two high schools, according to previous reporting.
The new middle school off FM 407, which is expected to cost around $89 million, is scheduled to open in August 2026 and will serve grades 7-8 with a capacity of 1,200 students, according to district documents.
Project updates:
- Crews are spreading topsoil and getting ready to plant grass. Trees are already planted.
- The tennis courts are visible as concrete slabs, and fencing has begun around them.
- Work is finishing up in the center portion to connect the north and south classroom wings.
- Roofing is being installed in various areas, allowing for interior sheetrock, paint and finishes to begin soon.
- Masonry is continuing around the building, following the structural steel.
