Lewisville ISD plans to spend roughly $57 million on renovations and repairs at Marcus and Hebron high schools, in addition to fire alarm upgrades at three elementary schools, according to a report at a May 5 work session by Randy Fite, the district's executive director of construction.

Zooming in

LISD's 2023 bond package will fund the renovations for Marcus High School and elementary school fire alarm upgrades, with $53 million going to the 20-year lifecycle maintenance repair project at Marcus High School. Repairs will start this summer and complete in summer 2027, with construction continuing through the school years, according to a presentation to the board.

Additionally, Peters Colony, Lewisville and Morningside elementary schools could receive a $1.2 million fire alarm replacement, which will enable better communications between the school and first responders. The old alarm systems are no longer supported by the manufacturer, Fite said.

The district aims to spend roughly $2.3 million from the 2024 bond package on baseball and softball field renovations at Hebron High School. The renovations will add new press boxes at both fields with new audio systems, a new entrance, additional paved areas and new elevated front row seating, according to the presentation.

What’s next?

The $53 million repair project, $1.2 million fire alarm upgrade and $2.3 million baseball field renovations will all be on the board’s consent agenda for approval at the May 12 meeting.

Potential future projects scheduled for approval for the June 9 consent agenda, include Lewisville High School's black box theater renovations and the Colony High School 20-year lifecycle maintenance and repair project, Fite said.
