Argyle ISD has hired Lauren Tullos as the principal of the new Jane Ruestmann Elementary School, according to a post on the district's website.

Tullos previously served as assistant principal at Argyle West Elementary for the past two years and will lead the new school in its August opening. Beginning in January, Tullos will transition to her new role with a focus on staffing and connecting with students and families who will be attending Jane Ruestmann Elementary, according to the Dec. 6 post.

The details

The new campus will be the first of several new schools being developed in the district as part of its 10-year strategic plan as it sees increasing growth.

“I am very excited to announce Mrs. Tullos as the principal of our new elementary school in Argyle ISD,” Superintendent Courtney Carpenter said in the post. “She will do an excellent job guiding the school opening as an experienced instructional leader while building a culture of strong connections with students, families and staff.”

She brings 15 years of experience in education and started in AISD as a counselor at the former Argyle Intermediate School before it became the Sixth Grade Center. Before arriving in the district, she worked in Dallas ISD as an elementary school counselor and also has educational experience as a behavioral interventionist.

Also of note

With the advent of the Jane Ruestmann campus, Tullos will also have to navigate the newly redrawn elementary school zones, which were approved by the board of trustees at a meeting Dec. 18.

“I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honored to embrace this exciting opportunity of leading Elementary School No. 4 as its new principal,” Tullos said in the post. “I look forward to fostering a vibrant learning community where excellence is nurtured, and every student can flourish.”
