1. Sunset Plaza
Construction of a $16 million parking structure and plaza area within Flower Mound’s Lakeside development concluded in August, according to a news release.
The garage was the final infrastructure component at Lakeside Village, which included $60 million of projects, per the news release.
The two-story garage has 378 parking spaces and has a green plaza situated on top, which will connect to nearby restaurant sites. The next phase of development in the area includes bringing in a wedding venue, said Jimmy Archie, a managing director at Realty Capital, the firm developing Lakeside.
2. Thirty-One Eleven Sunset
Residents began moving into Thirty-One Eleven Sunset in early March, around the time construction wrapped up on the building. The complex has a variety of one-, two- and three-bedroom tower apartments, penthouses and townhomes, according to its website.
Local officials held a grand opening ceremony for the residential tower in April.
The 16-story apartment building has 207 units.
3. Lakeside Terraces
The proposed apartment building is 21 stories and 163 units, according to Kyle Cooper, a development manager at Realty Capital, the development firm for Lakeside.
The planning and zoning commission unanimously approved a site plan for the building at an Aug. 25 meeting. Lakeside Terraces will be located near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and West Village Parkway, according to town documents.
Construction, which could begin next summer or fall, is expected to take 29 months.
4. Lakeview Loan Servicing
The Florida-based mortgage company signed a lease for 10,000 square feet of office space within the Lakeside International Office Center in early August.
The company plans to bring 50 jobs to the Flower Mound office campus, and was expected to move in in September.
5. Silveron Park
Site plans for a proposed 3-story Class A office building and around 15,000 square feet of commercial space were approved by the planning and zoning commission in early August.
Construction on the office building could begin later this month, a representative for the project said. The office and retail are the initial phases for a 46-acre mixed-use development, according to town documents.
Flower Mound officials also approved economic development incentives for the office project in July.
6. MI Windows and Doors
In mid-August, Flower Mound Town Council approved an extension of tax abatements that would allow MI Windows and Doors to expand its production lines at the Flower Mound facility. The extended incentives are part of the town’s business retention program, the director of economic development said.
Under the agreement, the company would be required to add additional jobs and invest at least $9 million into further improvements for its building.
