Construction of a $16 million underground parking structure within Flower Mound’s Lakeside Village community should be finished later this spring, according to a news release.

The two-story underground garage will be located within the South Sunset area, which is a waterfront dining and entertainment district along the shores of Lake Grapevine in Flower Mound.

“We’re intentionally hiding hundreds of cars at South Sunset to enhance the beauty of the site and create a pedestrian-friendly experience,” said Peter P. Stewart, president of Lakeside Village. “We want visitors to explore and enjoy the spectacular lake views from the plaza’s many public vantage points as well as from the restaurants, wedding chapel, Bluff Trail and amphitheater.”

The overview

The $16 million expenditure on the parking garage is the final piece of a $60 million infrastructure project meant to support Lakeside Village’s 40-acre southern expansion.

After the parking garage is built, a plaza and six restaurant sites will be developed over the structure, according to a fact sheet on Lakeside Village. The restaurants will range between 4,000 and 6,000 square feet, per the news release.

“We have numerous restaurateurs interested in the lake-view sites, and we are eager to offer visitors from across DFW a distinctive collection of dining experiences,” said Jimmy Archie, managing partner of Realty Capital and Lakeside Village’s developer.

Looking ahead

The underground parking structure is expected to be completed in April, according to the news release. In March, a 16-story, 207-unit luxury apartment complex, Thirty-One Eleven Sunset, is expected to open.

Further development, such as the Hotel Miramar, a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel, a six-story office building, the plaza and restaurant area, and the nature area are all expected to open in 2027, per the development fact sheet.
