Jack’s Outfitters has closed its doors at The Shops at Highland Village.

Owner Rhonda Kaye said financial pressures triggered her decision to close. The business had been operating at The Shops for 14 years and 16 years overall, with the other two years at Parker Square.

Kaye said operation costs contributed to the closure, and Jack’s Outfitters especially struggled lately, explaining her store performed well before COVID-19 struck. The store sold clothing, shoes, clothing accessories and other goods.

“[20]22 was tough,” Kaye said. “‘[20]23 was like, whoa, what’s going on? This year has been awful.”

Kaye said she doesn’t blame The Shops for her store’s financial woes.

"They have been so good and so gracious to me and so supportive," she said.

Kaye said she was "blown away" by the community's outpouring of love, support and "genuine sadness" about her store's closing.

"I was really hoping that business would turn around," she said.
