The Collin College board of trustees approved the appointment of Raj Menon to Place 5 of the board yesterday. Raj Menon has been appointed Place 5 of the Collin College board of trustees. Raj Menon has been appointed Place 5 of the Collin College board of trustees.[/caption] Menon, a Plano resident who has lived in Collin County for 19 years, is president and CEO of Flat World Design and has previous experience with Capital One Auto Finance, Diamond Technology Partners, Trinity Consultants and Intigma. He has also been active on many boards and committees with Plano ISD, according to an Oct. 26 Collin College news release. Menon also has board experience with four different companies and associations:
  • Indian Institute of Technology Alumni Association
  • Atlantic Housing Foundation Board in Dallas
  • Medical Center of Plano
  • Plano Symphony Orchestra Board
"Education has always been important to me," Menon said. "My first priority [with this position] is to learn more about the college and the working of it." Along with learning the master plan, Menon said he looks forward to learning the challenges and opportunities that face Collin College. "My goal is to understand where we need to grow," he said. "[And] really deal with this growth in Collin County." Place 5 was previously held by Stacy Anne Arias but sat vacant for about two months. Arias served in Place 5 for 12 years prior to relocating, according to a release.
