Dallas-area Chipotle Mexican Grill patrons on July 19 will have the option of contributing 50 percent of their meal cost to Dallas Pets Alive, a local animal rescue committed to eradicating euthanasia citywide.

To participate Chipotle guests must mention the initiative to the cashier. Fundraising efforts will continue at each location from 10:45 a.m. to close.

The mission of Dallas Pets Alive is to eliminate the killing of companion animals, according to its website. The nonprofit offers adoption and foster opportunities for healthy and treatable pets at risk for euthanasia.

"Dallas Pets Alive is glad to work with a community partner like Chipotle Mexican Grill," said Leslie Sans, spokesperson for the organization. "Money raised during the fundraiser on July 19 will help us continue to provide education, resources and programs that help save at-risk animals."
