Several businesses have closed, relocated or opened around Denton.

Dream Team Fitness opened in Denton in early January and offers fitness classes for women and personal training for everyone, owner Jennifer Evans said.
The classes include a boot camp, where guests work with weights, do cardio and participate in activities such as flipping and dragging a 150-pound tire as fast as they can for 45 minutes.
Atlanta-based auto shop Classic Collision opened its first North Texas location in mid-December, General Manager Craig Bingham said.
The shop offers collision and dent repairs, detailing services, autoglass repair, calibrations and diagnostic scans. The company currently operates 368 locations across the United States, Bingham said.
Gen Korean BBQ opened its first Denton location in early March, a company representative said.
The restaurant allows guests to cook their own meats, such as beef, pork or chicken, in a built-in tabletop grill, the company’s website states.
A Zio Al’s pizza location near the University of North Texas opened in early February, a company representative said. The location is the first Zio Al’s in Denton.
The restaurant offers pizza, wings, sandwiches and pasta, and the location is open from 11 a.m.-3 a.m., the company website states.

Quick N Clean Car Wash
Quick N Clean Car Wash will open its first Denton location, according to the company's website. The car wash will offer fast pass memberships, where customers can have access to unlimited car washes.
Other services include free interior vacuums with a car wash, free high-pressure air, mat floor cleaner, covered stalls, towels, air fresheners and the use of fast pass lanes.
Urban Air Adventure Park is in the construction phase of its first Denton location. Urban Air is for kids ages 2-18 and will feature dedicated playground areas for younger kids as well as high-energy attractions for older youth and teens.
Pharmaceutical company Novartis will build and operate its first Texas radioligand therapy, or RLT, manufacturing plant in Denton on Shady Oaks Drive, according to a news release from the company. The site will be fully operational in 2028.
Powersport vehicle auction company National Powersport Auctions will open a new facility in Denton in 2027, company Marketing and Events Manager Rylee Primicias said. The company broke ground on the new location Feb. 19.
The company currently has a location in Dallas, and the Denton facility will replace the Dallas location as the company's only Texas facility, Primicias said.

A new Crunch Fitness will be built in Denton off Heritage Trail near WinCo Foods.
The gym will be new construction and be a single-story building that spans 36,727 square feet and includes a mezzanine, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Crunch Fitness is a national gym chain that offers classes, open rooms with strength and cardio equipment, yoga studios, spin studios, HydroMassage beds, tanning, multi-club access and guest privileges, according to its website.
Relocations
Tattoo and oddities shop HereAfter opened at a new location on West Oak Street in downtown Denton at the beginning of March, owner Bethany Brockett said.
HereAfter is a tattoo parlor that also sells unusual collectibles, like a plaster replica of a mastodon jaw bone, books and unique jewelry.
HereAfter is in the same building where the Painting With a Twist was previously located.
The shop was originally on East University Drive in Denton.

Knee Deep Plumbing
Knee Deep Plumbing in Denton now offers assessments and replacements of water softeners and filtration systems, according to a news release from the company.
The services include both whole-home and point-of-use water filtration. The company started servicing water filters and softeners after receiving complaints of scale build-up and cloudy water in residential homes, the release states.

The Plot Twist Book Bar
The Plot Twist Book Bar celebrated one year of bringing romance-based novels to Denton in January.
The Plot Twist hosts monthly events, including author book signings, reading hours, writers workshops and release parties. The events are for guests 18 and older.
A full bar is at the front of the bookstore and has crafted cocktails, mocktails, dirty sodas, wine and local craft beer.
Salvage Secondhand Shoppe, a thrift store specializing in handpicked, gently worn clothing, will celebrated its fifth anniversary on March 7. Owner Julianna DiGennaro said she opened the store in 2021 in a space previously occupied by Circa 77 Vintage. She knew the Circa 77 Vintage owner, who encouraged her to open her own shop.
Salvage Secondhand Shoppe promotes sustainability by repurposing gently used clothes, showcasing sustainable brands and promoting reusable totes for shopping, according to its website.
The store also serves as a community space for local artists and businesses to showcase their goods, the website states.
Closings
The Starbucks coffee shop on the second floor of the student union at the University of North Texas will close at the end of March, a university representative said.
UNT officials did not offer an agreement renewal and are exploring alternative uses for the space.
A separate Starbucks coffee stand, which is between the music building and the Hurley administration building, will remain open, the representative said. The coffee stand offers a full service coffee bar and grab-and-go food options.
Cocktail bar The Hydeout near Fry Street and the University of North Texas closed in at the end of February, property manager Allen Feltman said.
The tenants were locked out for nonpayment and the space on Avenue A is currently up for lease, he said.
The Hydeout offered several specialty cocktails, such the Spring Break, a mix of vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec, melon liqueur and blue island punch, according to its menu.
After 14 years in business, pizza restaurant Crooked Crust near the University of North Texas permanently shut its doors on Feb. 27, according to an announcement on the company website.
The announcement stated a drop in sales, coupled with rising operational costs, made the business unsustainable.
