Dulce Mami Cafe
A new restaurant, Dulce Mami Cafe, has opened its doors in Denton.
Dulce Mami Cafe’s menu includes skillet combos, paninis, churro French toast and chilaquiles, according to its website. The drink menu has a selection of frappes, teas and cafe de olla, which is a Mexican spiced coffee.
Dulce Mami Cafe is a Chicago-based restaurant, with the Denton location the restaurant’s first in Texas.

Fleet Feet’s ninth location in North Texas is now open, according to a company representative.
The business offers a selection of footwear from brands including Nike, New Balance, ASICS and Karhu, Fleet Feet DFW operating partner Josh Davis said. Fleet Feet also carries apparel brands, such as Lululemon and Vuori, and running accessories, including Garmin watches and Shokz headphones.
“With a wide range of local races, active clubs, and community partnerships, there are endless opportunities to connect with and support runners and comfort seekers of all levels in Denton,” Davis said.

Bubble tea shop Lazi Cow opened its third North Texas location in Denton in early November, with grand opening events planned for Nov. 8-9, co-owner Kathy Kim said.
The tea shop offers boba tea, coffee drinks, smoothies and milk shakes, along with Japanese-style pastries called taiyaki, according to their website.
Lazi Cow opened their first North Texas location in Frisco in August 2024 and their second in Colleyville in August.

Zeal Grounds Coffee Hub opened in Denton mid-October, owner Raze Avery said.
Located in The Rail Yard apartments, the business offers coffee, tea, smoothies, pastries and more. Zeal Grounds and Coffee Hub also provides a work space for community members.
“We're down the street from the courthouse and the police station and everything,” Avery said. “It’s for anybody to come in, do work, have some good coffee, connect and network.”

In and Out Liquor
In and Out Liquor is expected to open in Denton in mid-2026, owner Raj Betwal said.
Construction of the 6,000-square-foot building is expected to cost $600,000, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Betwal said he is currently working through the permitting process and that the store will offer beer, wine and spirits.

A new location for Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is slated to open next year in Rayzor Ranch Town Center.
The restaurant’s menu includes authentic Japanese cuisine, such as nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls, according to its website. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar also serves edamame, ramen and udon noodle dishes, and a selection of mochi ice cream. All dishes in the restaurant are served on a revolving conveyor belt.
The Denton location is set to be the chain’s 15th in Texas, with others in McKinney, Fort Worth, Frisco and Plano. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar has more than 550 locations worldwide.

PetSmart offers pet food, toys, training and grooming services, according to the company’s website.

Denton Calvary Academy
Denton Calvary Academy's newest campus addition, Lion’s Hall, opened Aug. 18, Development and Community Engagement Coordinator Carlie Kuban said.
School staff held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the addition on Nov. 12, Kuban said. The new space provides additional classrooms, a middle school chapel, a computer lab and new administrative offices, per a news release.
“Our students and staff are already thriving in this expanded space,” Denton Calvary Academy Head of School W. Douglas Jefferson said in a news release. “Lion’s Hall gives us the capacity to continue providing excellent academics, spiritual formation, and community for our middle and high school students.”
The private Christian school offers classes for students kindergarten through 12th grade.
