This year's North Texas Giving Day celebrates 10 years of giving, volunteering and donations.

North Texas Giving Day is Communities Foundation of Texas‘ annual online giving event which benefits 20 counties in North Texas. The goal for the day is to create awareness and support for nonprofits while also making it easy for donors to give.

The 11-day celebration will begin Monday with volunteering and in-person donation stations. The event will end Sept. 20 with the signature North Texas Giving Day, according to a news release. Other events include concerts, nonprofit performances, prizes, art, food and drinks.

Of the many nonprofits participating in this year’s event, 40 are from Frisco; 70 from McKinney; 120 from Plano; 48 in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake; and 48 in Lewisville, Flower Mound and Highland Village.

Monday and Thursday events will take place in Dallas followed by a Plano Donation Station event Sept. 15 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Shops at Willow Bend, 6121 W. Park, Plano. The Plano event will include free performances by the Plano Symphony Orchestra, North Texas Performing Arts, Plano Civic Chorus and Plano Chamberlain Ballet in addition to face painting, games and contests.

The Collin County Giving Day Party in the Park will take place Sept. 20 from 4:30-7 p.m. at Finch Park, 301 W. Standifer St., McKinney. This free event includes live music, more than 60 local nonprofits, performances, a blood drive, balloon animals and other family-friendly activities.

A Giving Day event will also take place in Richardson Sept. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at CityLine Plaza, 1250 State St., Richardson. This free family-friendly event includes games, music, performances and 20 nonprofits the serve Richardson and Richardson ISD.

In 2017, North Texas Giving Day raised $39 million and benefitted 2,723 nonprofits, according to the release.
