1. Omni Frisco Hotel opens Monday

After about 2 1/2 years of construction, the Omni Frisco Hotel is now open at The Star in Frisco. The 16-story luxury hotel features 300 guest rooms and suites with 24,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 13,000-square-foot ballroom. The hotel also features a rooftop swimming pool and a deck located on the fourth floor as well as a lobby bar. The hotel's opening also marks the debut of Neighborhood Services as its featured dining experience. A grand opening celebration will be held in late August.

2. Frisco Planning and Zoning set to approve site plans for Texas Health Frisco

Arlington-based Texas Health Resources plans to open a 20-acre hospital campus in Frisco that will be located on the southeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Cobb Hill Drive. During the planning and zoning commission meeting on Tuesday, commissioners are expected to approve site plans for the campus, which includes a hospital, one medical office building and a parking garage.

3. City of Frisco to host Military Day at the Frisco Athletic Center

There will be free admission to the Frisco Athletic Center all day Friday for retired and active military from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. As part of the event, the party pavilions at Frisco Water Park within the FAC will be reserved all day for military families only.
