The WERX Foundation Inc. of McKinney will partner with AT&T to present a free public policy lunch and panel on May 25 with State Sen. Van Taylor, R-Plano, and District 70 State Rep. Scott Sanford, R-McKinney, for local entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The WERX Foundation Inc. is a center for start-up and technology companies while additionally serving as a resource for workspaces and various amenities in order to build a stronger local entrepreneurial community.

The Public Policy Panel Discussion Lunch will focus on economic development in Texas, government funding resources and changes in Texas legislation and the effects that will follow.

“With Texas continuing to be the model for others in job growth and economic climate, both Sen. Taylor and Rep. Sanford can provide insight into how that Texas Miracle has sustained and what the next session may bring in the business regulatory front,” said WERX Foundation Executive Director Christine Smith said. “The WERX is proud to team with AT&T Texas to present this informative discussion that will cover topics that affect small businesses, entrepreneurs and innovation in Texas.”

Sanford and Taylor will speak on recent changes in legislature with Matthew Foster, AT&T regional director of Legislative and External Affairs to join the panel following the discussion to answer additional questions regarding business strategies.

The lunch is noon-1:30 p.m. at The WERX Foundation Inc. of McKinney, 610 Elm St., Ste. 700.
