It'll be busy in Frisco with a slew of major events taking place this weekend. In addition, there will also be road closures. For a traffic update and list of Frisco events, see below. Traffic update: The Dallas North Tollway will be closed all weekend starting at 11 p.m. Friday on northbound and southbound lanes from Spring Creek Parkway in Plano and Gaylord Parkway in Frisco until 5 a.m. Monday. The roads around Simpson Plaza in Frisco Square will also be closed Saturday and Sunday for the Arts in the Square festival. The roads will close at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and will remain closed throughout the weekend. Roads will reopen by 9 p.m. Sunday. For a map and detours, click here. Parking spaces around Simpson Plaza will be blocked off a day early so the art festival can be set up so there will be no parking in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center from Friday-Sunday. However, library patrons or attendees can park in the free parking garage behind the building. Handicap parking is available on each floor.

Arts in the Square The Juried Fine Arts and Crafts festival features more than 120 of the best local and regional artists selling their handmade creations. In addition to providing the community with high-quality cultural events and Frisco ISD student performances, the festival proceeds assist local charity partners by hosting an Empty Bowls booth benefiting Frisco Family Services. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (each day). As a thank you to the community, general admission will be free to the public and many activities will take place throughout the weekend. Edgefest 2017 Hosted by iHeartMedia’s 97.1 The Eagle, EdgeFest returns to Toyota Stadium.
