The weekend is almost here and with the city's biggest downtown event—Oktoberfest—on tap the following week, this weekend is the perfect time to enjoy the city without having to fight a ton of traffic to do so.

Crossed Paws Animal Haven Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Join Crossed Paws Animal Haven for their ribbon cutting ceremony with the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. CPAH is the first non-profit animal rescue to join the Chamber and everyone is invited to Tupps Brewery to celebrate at 4:30 p.m. Stay afterwards and enjoy one of Tupps' tasty craft beers, sign up for a silent auction item, and buy raffle tickets for some prizes. Taproom is open from 4-8 p.m. Bring your furry friends and your family and join CPAH's founders in the celebration.

Cate Robbins: Kaleidoscope at The Cove
Cate Robbins will have her art on display this weekend at The Cove, McKinney's newest art venue. Robbins is a versatile artist who works in several media. Her inspiration comes from so many sources and takes so many different forms, from abstract to figurative, from metaphorical to literal.

The Star Community Day
Are you ready for some football? The Star Community Day, presented by Tostitos, is open to the public, free of charge and will showcase the new home of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Those familiar with Dallas Cowboys Rally Days at AT&T Stadium can expect a similar feel at The Star Community Day, including family-friendly activities, Rowdy and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys alumni and more. Guests will be able to view Tostitos Championship Plaza at The Star, the interior of Ford Center, including the high school locker rooms, and enjoy family-friendly activities such as bounce houses and games, as well as appearances by Rowdy, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Dallas Cowboys alumni.
