Dickens in historic downtown Plano features stages with music from local choirs, high school and church groups and dance companies. The Plano Parks and Recreation Department is hosting this family event tonight, Dec. 4, from 6-10 p.m. along 15th Street in downtown Plano.

The city's annual tree lighting ceremony begins at 7 p.m. at 901 E. 15th St. in Haggard Park. Children can send a letter to "Jolly Old Saint Nick” via Santa’s Mailbox near the Interurban Railway Museum. People can also visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at their house on J Place from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Food vendors will be available selling corn dogs, funnel cakes, kettle corn and hot and cold drinks. Downtown Plano restaurants and stores will also stay open late for the event.
