Residents in Allen’s Hillside Village neighborhood will see improvements to streets.
Allen City Council approved a $123,248 contract with Intermountain Slurry for roadway repairs to the Hillside Village neighborhood at an April 28 meeting.

The project includes applying slurry seal treatment to approximately 20,500 square yards of roadway in the Hillside Village neighborhood, according to city documents.

Slurry seal is a treatment for pavement made of sand, water and asphalt binder, which can cover minor defects and create a smoother surface, per city documents.
The project will cost $123,248, city documents state. The funds are already allocated within the approved fiscal year 2025-26 budget and come from the city’s general fund.
The context
The city of Allen has made multiple investments in roads and other city infrastructure this year.
City Council approved spending nearly $2.2 million to improve sidewalks within the Greengate neighborhood at an April meeting. In addition, council approved a $4.87 million contract with Jim Bowman Construction for its 2026 Street and Alley Rehabilitation project at a February meeting.
The city is also planning to update its wastewater system by upgrading several lift stations.
