Diners at The Backyard Grill can choose four flavors—including strawberry, melon, raspberry, blue, peach, watermelon and sangria—on the eatery’s $10 margarita flight, a new summer-inspired menu item.
Frozen margaritas are made from scratch with lime juice, tequila, sugar and triple sec, and have been on the menu since The Backyard Grill opened, General Manager Fred Stewart said.
“With as many taps that we have, it’s natural for people to want to try different beers,” he said. “[A flight] is a great way to sample something to see if you like it.”
The drink menu touts nearly 100 beer options, Texas wines and margaritas, among other house cocktails.
Owner Mark McShaffry hosts a weekly gathering for beer enthusiasts alongside local beer expert Chad Pilbeam on Thursdays from 4-6 p.m.
“We’ve never been a complicated bar,” Stewart said. “We’re a neighborhood family restaurant [that] happens to have a bar.”
