A July 30 press release announced homebuilder and developer Taylor Morrison is the exclusive homebuilder for ABC's “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition'' and will build a new home in its Mason Woods community for a local family.

Mason Woods is a 300-acre community in Cypress.
Per the release, the Houston episode will film from Aug. 17-23 when 2,000 volunteers will help build a new home in under seven days.
The approach
Volunteer and donation opportunities are available to the public. Anyone interested in participating must be 18 years of age or older as of Aug. 17 and can sign up here.
There are a variety of departments and tasks volunteers can participate in, such as assembling furniture, design photography, organization, check-in, catering, and art and carpentry installations.
"Building dream homes is what we do every day at Taylor Morrison, so it's a natural fit for us to do just that for a local family as part of this iconic show," said Todd Rasmussen, Houston Division President at Taylor Morrison.
The Taylor Morrison-designed home will be completed and furnished with organized areas planned by The Home Edit to ensure a stress-free move-in experience, per the release.
