PREVIEW: Harris County ESD 9 to discuss Station 17 construction matters

The Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 board of commissioners is slated to discuss construction matters for the upcoming Station 17 project during a Sept. 15 special meeting.

Harris County ESD 9 serves as a political subdivision and taxing entity that supports fire suppression and emergency medical service operations for the Cy-Fair Fire Department.

The board of commissioners will meet with Durotech and Martinez Architects to discuss bid numbers and proposals to be presented during the September regular meeting construction updates, Martinez Architects officials said during the Aug. 27 meeting.

Martinez Architects presented a schedule for Station 17’s design activities to the board of commissioners:

• August: receive bids from Durotech

• September: issue Guaranteed Maximum Price for board approval

• November: Notice to Proceed

According to previous Community Impact reporting, Station 17 is one of eight planned fire stations that are part of a long-term plan to fill coverage gaps throughout the district.
