Community Impact has hired Kelly Outlaw to serve as its Chief Financial Officer, a role focused on directing the company’s financial strategy and outcomes.

Outlaw, a licensed CPA, has been an executive leader over a decade. Her previous roles included serving as CFO for a $350M, Texas-based, oil and gas company and the CFO/COO of Austin Habitat for Humanity. As a proud University of Texas alumna, she has been an Austin-area resident her entire life.

“Jennifer and I are thrilled to bring Kelly on as our new CFO. Her experience leading financial teams combined with her enthusiasm for our mission and her vision for investing in our people and our products is a perfect fit for CI's next chapter,” CEO & Founder John Garrett said.

Outlaw has a background in leadership, operations, financial analysis, business development, strategy execution, sales and mergers and acquisitions. Her leadership philosophy is shaped around putting the needs of employees first through competitive compensation, top of the line benefits, and a healthy work life balance.

“When John Garrett approached me with the open CFO position, it was an opportunity to come to work for a strong and capable organization, but it was also an opportunity to prioritize my life by God's standards,” she said. “I am a wife first, a mother second, and a business leader third. Having a company that supports those priorities and is 10 minutes from our home is something I could have only dreamed about.”

Outside of work, Outlaw can often be found either in the yoga studio or with her family. Outlaw and her husband Brian have four children, Ava (13), Dylan (11), Gavin (8), and Amelia (6). Outlaw and her family are members of The Fellowship Church in Round Rock, and she serves on the board of directors for the Red Cross of Central & South Texas and the Austin Bridge Builders Alliance. Through collaborative partnerships and advocacy at all levels, Kelly believes that every citizen pulling in the same direction can make a grand impact on our local community.
