12th annual Women Empowering Women Luncheon raised nearly $170,000 for Interfaith Community Clinic
On April 9, more than 300 guests attended the Women's Empowering Luncheon, which helped raise over $170,000 to support the Interfaith Community Clinic, according to an April 29 news release. The clinic is known for its work supporting uninsured and underinsured locals of Montgomery County.
All Ears! held its Boots & Bowties Ball to fundraise for deaf children's programs
According to a news release, on April 10, The All Ears! Center held its Toast & Taste: Boots & Bowties Ball to help fundraise for deaf or hard-of-hearing children. According to the news release, the ball raised “significant funds” to help support the clinic's new Zero Delay program.
The new Zero Delay program will help children ages 0-3 get access to speech and hearing services.
The Woodlands Christian Academy fundraised over $1.2M at auction and gala
460 attendees came to support The Woodlands Christian Academy’s auction and gala April 13, according to a news release. The gala and auction helped raise over $1.2 million, which will go to support the school's financial foundation.
“I give thanks to God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon Woodlands Christian, not just monetarily, but through the generous hearts and hands of every person who took part in this year’s gala. We are humbled by your support,” Head of School Julie Ambler said.
Habitat for Humanity’s Building Hope Gala raised $1.7M to support local homeownership
On April 25, Habitat for Humanity hosted its 13th annual Building Hope Gala and raised $1.7 million to support local homeownership. This milestone reportedly surpassed last year's gala, which at the time raised a record $1 million, according to a news release. The night consisted of many activities, including live auctions, raffles, bid boards and a silent auction.
“As I reflect on the incredible evening we shared at the 2026 Building Hope Gala, my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude,” said Tina Rivera, 2026 Building Hope Gala chair.
Montgomery County Food Bank receives truck donation through partnership with Just Serve and America 250
According to a news release, on May 13, the Montgomery County Food Bank will distribute a truck containing 40,000 pounds of donated food supplies. The donation ot the food bank stems from a new partnership with Just Serve and America 250 as a part of its America Gives initiative.
Montgomery County Food Bank will distribute the food to support its 97 partners across Montgomery County, which will help feed approximately 14,000 people for a week. Locals will be able to help distribute the donated food by volunteering with Just Serve.
Montgomery County Food Bank hosting annual Outrun Hunger event
On June 13, the Montgomery County Food Bank will host its annual Outrun Hunger event. This community event is open for teams or solo runners of all ages. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from three different courses, including a 1K Color Dash and a timed 5K or 8K.
All proceeds will be donated to help fight food insecurity in the Montgomery area.
YES to YOUTH will host a teen suicide prevention gala this August
YES to YOUTH will be hosting its Every Child Deserves an Ever After Gala on Aug. 8, in support of teen suicide prevention. The nonprofit organization has served Montgomery for over 47 years, providing crisis counseling, suicide prevention and mental health resources.
Sylvia Caracio and Jacque Everson will also be named as the Lifetime Legacy Honorees at the gala after decades of support, according to an April 30 news release.
