Why are you running for office?

I am running to represent Texas’s 8th District, offering proven leadership, real-world experience, and a strong commitment to economic opportunity. I will advocate for working families, strengthen local infrastructure, and ensure the voices of Montgomery, Walker, Harris, and Waller counties are represented in Washington.

What would your top priorities be if elected?

I will focus on strengthening local infrastructure, expanding economic opportunities, supporting veterans, enhancing education and workforce development, and safeguarding community health. My goal is to deliver practical solutions that help families in Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Harris counties prosper.

What are the biggest challenges facing District 8?

Texas’ 8th District faces rising costs, human trafficking risks, limited healthcare access, underfunded schools with stagnant teacher pay, insufficient well-paying jobs, and unmet veterans’ needs - challenges that place pressure on families and limit opportunities for growth and prosperity.

How will you ensure your district is prepared for extreme weather and flooding?

I will enhance drainage and infrastructure, accelerate flood-control projects, expand early-warning systems, improve emergency coordination, and secure federal resources to ensure all communities - urban and rural - are protected before, during, and after major storms.

If elected, what will your priorities be regarding property taxes and housing affordability?

I will prioritize reducing the property-tax burden and expanding housing affordability by enhancing taxpayer protections, increasing transparency, modernizing zoning, and supporting affordable housing development, ensuring that working families, seniors, and first-time buyers can remain rooted in their communities.

Why are you running for office?

Working families like mine are struggling under bad policy. As a small business owner & caregiver in a diverse family, I've lived the crises we face. We need a voice in Congress who knows these struggles firsthand and will fight unapologetically for healthcare, living wages, and real economic fairness.

What would your top priorities be if elected?

Securing a living wage for working-class Americans, Medicare for All, and funding education from pre-K through trade school. I'll fight to bring federal investment home, protect and expand Social Security, and ensure economic fairness for working families, not the wealthy elite.

What are the biggest challenges facing District 8?

The biggest challenges here are unaffordable healthcare, low wages, and inadequate infrastructure vulnerable to flooding. Our working families are squeezed by rising costs while being left out of recovery and investment. We need a leader who lives these struggles and will fight for real solutions, not empty promises.

How will you ensure your district is prepared for extreme weather and flooding?

I will fight to secure major federal investment in modern drainage, green infrastructure, and floodplain restoration, prioritizing our most vulnerable neighborhoods. I'll hold polluters accountable and push for a Federal Climate Corps to create local jobs building resilient, community-led defenses against future storms.

If elected, what will your priorities be regarding property taxes and housing affordability?

I will fight for seniors 65+ to pay no property tax, institute rent control to cap rates, create incentives to lower home prices, and expand down payment assistance. We must keep families in their homes and make housing a right, not a privilege.
