Williamson County judges appointed Anthony Odiorne as a new associate judge in the magistrate’s office, according to a Thursday news release. Odiorne has worked as a private attorney in Georgetown and a regional public defender for capital cases serving approximately two-thirds of the State of Texas, the release said. He also spent 11 years as the chief public defender for the Wichita County Public Defender’s Office and served as chair of the Indigent Client Defense Committee for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the release said. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law and is a member of the Williamson County Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, the release said. Odiorne will be sworn into office Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. in the 277th District Courtroom at the Justice Center, 405 Martin Luther King St., Georgetown.
